Originally from the Boise, Idaho area, I began my career working as a DDA with children and adolescents with developmental delays, then adapted into helping families and individuals. I obtained a Bachelor of Science in Psychology in 2011 followed by completing Idaho State University’s Counseling Program in 2014 and graduating with a Master of Mental Health Counseling.

My primary theoretical approach is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. However I also utilize a variety of approaches depending on the need/desire of my client. I hold certifications in Accelerated Resolution Therapy(ART), Safe and Sound Protocol(SSP), Clinical telemental health professional(CCTHP), Certified Clinical Trauma Professional(CCTP), Animal Assisted Intervention(AAI) and am now a registered supervisor for those seeking licensure both LPC and Clinical as well as provide professional consultations.

I have extensive experience working with child and adolescent victims of sexual abuse and a variety of other trauma, as well as attachment issues such as Reactive Attachment Disorder. I use principles from Nancy Thomas's Healing Hearts Camp to address these issues. I also have knowledge and experience working with families struggling with sibling and parent conflict issues, anxiety disorders, depression disorders, PTSD, Bi-Polar, Domestic Violence, Relationship issues, self-esteem and identity issues.

Growing up in a big family, I was always surrounded by babies and kids and quickly became the “official babysitter” for cousins, siblings, friends, and neighbors! Over time, I realized I didn’t just enjoy caring for children, I absolutely love it!! I enjoy spending time in nature, going on walks, and cozy days at home reading with my cat. I’m so excited to be part of the P.A.A. team and can’t wait to get to know everyone!

in Sociology. Since then, she has worked in DDA as a Behavior Interventionist while also

completing all required certifications to become a teacher.

Alexis has a true passion for working with children of all ages and embraces the challenges and

rewards that come with being a BI. She especially enjoys supporting children as they grow

mentally, emotionally, and physically, and values the meaningful relationships she builds with

each child along the way.

When she’s not working, Alexis loves to travel, read, but is usually doing something outside

enjoying time with her husband, daughter, and their four dogs—soaking up fresh air and making

the most of family time together.
