Since a young age I have always been drawn to helping others and am now a Licensed Professional Counselor with a focus on Rehabilitation, which includes disability and career knowledge. I have experience in both mental health and career counseling, as a result. Esmer practices from a directive Gestalt therapy approach and enjoys eclecticism found within her Rehabilitation focus. In the little free time I enjoy sitting down and reading a good book or simply talking about them. I prefer to remain indoors except for the rare times Idaho chooses to be sunny in which I then enjoys gardening.
If curious: Esmer is Mexican/American and is fluent in Spanish.

I believe children thrive when they experience safe, connected relationships. My therapeutic
approach is grounded in attachment and play therapy, drawing on the power of the language of play
and expressive arts to help children and families express emotions, build resilience, increase
confidence, and strengthen their sense of security and connection. Through play, we can explore
difficult experiences, develop new skills, and discover their own strengths in an environment of
complete acceptance and support.
I believe healing happens within relationships. In addition to individual work with children, I
collaborate closely with parents and caregivers to deepen understanding, strengthen attachment, and
build practical co-regulation skills that support emotional well-being at home. I view parents and
caregivers as essential partners in the therapeutic process. Although my work centers on children, I
also provide individual support for parents and caregivers who are working through their own
challenges and past experiences. I believe that when caregivers find healing, growth, and support,
they are often better able to offer the connection, consistency, and emotional presence that children
need to thrive. My goal is not only to support children in overcoming difficulties, but also to
empower families with the knowledge, confidence, and connection needed to thrive together.
The privilege of hearing clients’ stories, creating a peaceful environment where they feel seen, safe,
and supported, and joining their healing journey is sacred to me.
Outside of my professional role, I love spending time with my children who are the greatest joy of
my life. I also enjoy expressing myself creatively through hand lettering, embroidery, watercolor,
crochet, singing, and theatre.

happens both inside and outside the gym. I’m currently pursuing my master’s degree in

When I’m not studying or training, you’ll likely find me exploring new places, hiking,
enjoying a great cup of coffee, or spending time with people who matter most. As
someone who has lived a life shaped by both challenge and opportunity, I value
curiosity, self-reflection, and continual growth. For me, wellness is more than a goal—it’s
a lifestyle built on strength, balance, adventure, and meaningful connection.I am originally from Boise, Idaho, and graduated from Idaho State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work in 2024.
